Terrains

Today, Tua Rita boasts 65 hectares, cared for as if they were flower gardens. The founders, Rita and Virgilio, were renowned for their meticulous attention: at the end of the day, they used to stroll through the rows to ensure everything was in order, down to the last vine leaf. Today, as it was then, nothing has changed.

The vineyard protection

The vine breeding system alternates between single spurred cordon and double spurred cordon, while the planting density per hectare ranges from 5,000 to 9,000 vines. Every practice adheres to the principles of organic agriculture because Tua Rita's longstanding goal is to preserve the health of the grapes and the surrounding environment to the fullest extent possible.

Located in the midst of the Metalliferous Hills

Spread over gentle slopes, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, the vineyards are nestled between the land and the sea in the region known as Alta Maremma, specifically within the territory of the Metalliferous Hills. This area is distinctively characterized by its soil, which is rich in stones, rocks, clay, silt, sand, and especially micro-minerals. This unique genetic heritage is reflected in Tua Rita's wines, which are aromatically marked by pleasant iron notes and, on the palate, by a beautiful saline character.
