By Tuscan standards, Tua Rita is a relative infant. Purchased in 1984 by Rita & Virgilio Tua as a place to spend their retirement, the two quickly realized that their passion was calling them to exploit the great potential that their small farm was hiding.  For years, the pair farmed their land and sold the grapes to notable Maremma wineries like Sassicaia; but beginning in 1992 they decided to make their dream a reality and began bottling their own wine.
On the heels of very high scores from notable critics, the winery emerged as a major player in the region seemingly overnight.  Mention their pure Merlot, Redigaffi, and you’ll surely get some appreciative nods.  But one of the estates best and most affordable wines, is it’s pure Sangiovese, Perlato del Bosco.
